Text: Genesis 1-2:3

The Old Testament is full of stories that thrust us into a faith vs. science debate.  Jonah in a fish for three days swimming in gastric juices.  Noah herding predators and prey onto a boat for a forty day cruise.  The sun standing still in the sky during a key battle.  And let’s not forget about the talking snake!  But of all the stories, the creation story of Genesis 1 always seems to jump to the forefront as the example of “it’s either faith or science, but not both.”  But what if there actually isn’t a conflict between the claims of Genesis 1 and geology, archeology, and biology?  What if we’ve been asking this crucial passage the wrong questions?
