Some people are lost and do not care.  They live life on their terms and are not bothered in the least with what God thinks or wants.  But there’s another kind of lostness that’s actually worse and that’s what our text addresses this Sunday.  The end of Chapter 2 confronts us with a chilling question–what if the people most convinced they are standing with God are actually the furthest from Him?  Anytime we trust in a religious system over Jesus, we are at risk of the worst lostness of all–religious self-righteousness.
