Text: Romans 14

Seeing someone gnaw on a slab of baby backs or a skewer of grilled shrimp probably wouldn’t cause you to sin–ok, maybe a little jealousy.  But for the house churches in Rome, what a Christian could and couldn’t eat was a hot and contentious topic.  The Gentile Christians knew that faith in Christ alone meant that we’re not saved by dietary restrictions or observing the Sabbath on a certain day, but the Jewish Christians had “always done it that way.”  So who’s right?  So who’s wrong?  Paul actually says that when it comes to disagreements between Christians, there’s something more important than being right.
